On Li Ping's Playing of Konghou, a poem by Li He of the Tang Dynasty: 'At the place where Nv Wa melted down stones to repair the sky, Rock shattered and heaven shook, and autum rain fell.' The lines depict the sonorous rise and deep fall of the melody played on the Konghou (ancient plucked instrument with five to 25 strings), which produces an indescribably wonderful ambience. The phrase is used to describe remarkably original and forceful writing or commentary.
