Plod

(v.)

to walk slowly with heavy steps, especially because you are tired

艰难地行走;吃力地行进

e.g. Our horses plodded down the muddy track.

e.g. We plodded on through the rain.

我们冒雨艰难的跋涉。

e.g. I watched her plodding her way across the field.

Plod along/on: to make very slow progress, especially with difficult or boring work

进展缓慢(尤指艰难枯燥的工作)

e.g. I weed at dawn though early still; I plod home with my moonlit hoe.

(n.) a person who works slowly and steadily but without imagination

缺乏想象力的苦干者;沉闷的苦干者
