Reek

(v.) reek (of sth)

1. to smell very strongly of sth unpleasant

散发臭气;发出难闻的气味

e.g. His breath reeked of tobacco.

他满嘴臭味。

e.g. If you walk into the interview right after having that cigarette, the chances are that you are going to reek of smoke. That can be a turn off for many people.

如果你恰好在抽完那个香烟后走进面试场和,很可能是你会散发出香烟的臭味。这会让许多面试者被拒绝掉。

2. (disapproving) to suggest very strongly that sth unpleasant or suspicious is involved in a situation
