1. (disapproving) to treat sb in a way that seems friendly, but which shows that you think that they are not very intelligent, experienced, etc. 屈尊俯就地对待;摆出高人一等的派头

e.g. Some television programmes tend to patronize children.

2. (formal) to be a regular customer of a shop/store, restaurant, etc. 经常光顾
