CNN(April 16,2013): Source close to the White House told CNN yesterday that Malia Ann, President Obama’s daughter, has accepted a scholarship from Beijing University to start her pre-college study beginning in September of this year.

    Like Harvard University in US, Beijing University, one of the top colleges in China, has educated a number of influential politicians in China since it was founded, including current Chinese premier. Given Malia’s status of the first daughter, the White House and Beijing have been in discussion on the measures to protect Malia’s privacy and safety.

    Regarding what major the first daughter may pursue in Beijing University, both the president and the first lady are said to agree it will be the choice of their daughter. The source said, however, the president still suggested to her daughter that she should spend at least considerable hours in the area of Marxism theory.
