据日本时事通讯社（2014年，2月4日）报道，日本广播协会(NHK)经营委员百田尚树3日在街头演讲中公开声称，不存在南京大屠杀。
百田尚树3日为支持日本空中自卫队前幕僚长田母神俊雄竞选东京都知事，在街头发表公开演讲。百田在演讲中称，1938年蒋介石曾任意宣传“日本军实施了南京大屠杀”，但世界各国对此无视，原因在于根本不存在南京大屠杀。战后，在东京审判中，南京大屠杀如亡灵般出现，这是因为美军为了抵消自己所犯的罪。最开始说南京大屠杀遇难者有20万人，后来又改成了30万人，这毫无道理。
